Each offers its own perspective, but they all have one thing in common: they are aimed at giving the modern man the information he needs to thrive in today’s world.

But which ones should you read?

There’s simply not enough time in the day to keep up with all of the great stuff being produced by  the talented male bloggers and content creators out there.

So, I’ve put together this list for any man who wants resources about:

These are the same topics we address in our own blog Compass Longview. This puts as in a good position to provide you with some quality recommendations.

* This is not the traditional ranking system. Rather every blog mentioned here is unique and valuable in its own right. This list also focuses mainly on independent blogs that are mostly self-driven without corporate funding. You can see the personality that comes through in their content and engagement with their audience. 

With that out of the way, let's get started:

Real Men Real Style was started by  Antonio Centeno in  2008. Today it’s one of the leading blogs on men’s style. It’s catalog of over 3,000 articles, videos, podcasts, and infographics with read and viewed by millions of men monthly. The goal is to help them leverage style to command respect, attract new opportunity and earn more money.

Unfinished Man describes itself as  “a  site devoted to the essence of masculinity and becoming a real man.” Run by a group of five friends from different corners of the world, their content covers topics for the regular man across the globe. You’ll find advice on numerous topics, including dating, grooming and fashion. There are also sections with updates on news in entertainment, auto, sports, and recommendations of food and drink items.

The Gentlemen Racer focuses automotive subjects, including cars, trucks, and motorcycles. With product reviews, how-to's, and listicles, there is a variety of information available for car enthusiasts. The Gentlemen Racer also talks about travel and men's lifestyle with a focus on luxury and refined destinations, style, and living.

IAmAlphaM is a popular men's lifestyle blog that offers advice and tips on multiple facets of their life, including grooming, style, dating and fitness. The blog mainly features listicles on what to do and what to not do in these areas, with light-hearted instruction. In addition to the writing pieces there’s the AlphaM Youtube Channel. With over 6M subscribers its on of the most popular Men channels on the platform.

The Aspiring Gentleman is a men’s lifestyle blog based in Miami Beach. From travel stories in Brazil to whiskey reviews in Scotland, The Aspiring Gentleman shares the latest trends and offers timeless advice for the modern gentleman. The focus is on business, finances, style, grooming, health and lifestyle.

The Kentucky Gent is a men’s life and style blog devoted to showing why men from the Southern United States have an undeniable style. Run by Josh Johnson the blog offers insight into the South's fashion, Bourbon (a favorite topic of ours), lifestyle, culture and travel. There is a specific focus on Lousiville, Kentucky, and which events occur there. You can think of it as the  web’s “Gateway to the South”.

The Modest Man provides honest, in-depth, practical advice for men on a vairty of topics from style to grooming to confidence, – with a special emphasis on men who are below average height. Founder, Brock McGoff, was sick of being overlooked because of his height. He realized that most apparel companies completely ignore men under 5’9”, and he decided to do something about it. The Modest Man blog now reaches millions of visitors every year.  and also launched clothing line that suited his followers. 

The Effortless Gent motto is “dress sharp and feel confident without a ton of clothes” If you want to build a minimalist wardrobe that has everything you need and nothing extra, Effortless Gent is for you. Creator of the “lean wardrobe” philosophy, EG’s founder Barron Cuadro teaches men how to build a wardrobe that’s ready for any occasion . Even if you don’t have prior style experience, the content on this blog will help you  build a lean wardrobe filled with great pieces that all go with each other. 

Style Girlfriend has become a go-to destination for guys around the globe seeking not just fashion advice, but lifestyle tips —all from a friendly, female perspective. The content is created by a team of awesome women with unique voices who all share one mission—to help guys make the “Look Good, Feel Good” connection for themselves.

Dudefluencer is a men's magazine dedicated to positive masculinity. Their  focus is to help generations of men learn healthy behaviors and then develop more robust communities. That translates into a guides on  self-care, personal growth, and forming strong communities.

ManTripping is a men's lifestyle blog that focuses predominately on travel, as well as wine, food, and cultural experiences across the United States. The content is geared towards men who love to travel, explore new places and see life from perspectives while enjoying wine, food, and cultural experiences with other like-minded men. The blog also has an entire section devoted to gift ideas for men for various events and  special occasions.

Mantelligence offers in-depth and easy-to-understand articles, resources, and how-to guides to help you become a better, more intelligent man. This is the place to go when you want to learn how to be as cool, comfortable, and in control as you need to be in every situation.

He Spoke Style has established itself as a leading online destination for premium original men’s style content. Blending information and inspiration, The site provides practical style advice, outfit ideas, product reviews, and trend analysis for regular guys interested in menswear. Irreverent Gent is a men’s fashion and style run award-winning blogger, journalist and Amazon best-selling author Dave Bowden. They help guys look and live better through their catalog of hundreds of articles on topics like style, confidence & self-Esteem, dating and fitness & health. In addition,  Dave he’s also the author of multiple books, including Man in Command: How to Go From the Most Self-Doubting Guy in the Room to The Most Confident Man.

Knowledge For Men is a great resource for men struggling to find their purpose, date the women the women they really want or have deeper more intimate relationships with their existing partner or live a grounded life. It’s run by Andrew Fribee who interviews world-renowned entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and experts as well as shares his experiences on the blog and podcast.

Gentleman Within is run by Khôi Nguyen as he documents his own style journey as he learns and grows along the way. His website is dedicated to helping successful guys find their style, be more confident, and live their best life. Discovering and developing your personal style is a journey—one that should be fun. 

Capable Men is a men's lifestyle website that discusses indispensable skill-sets, adventurous lifestyles, stimulating enterprise, enriching relationships & innovative ideas.

Final Thoughts

Truth be told, none of us has enough time in this lifetime to get through all of this great content. Even if you followed even half of these regularly, you probably wouldn’t get much done. That's why I recommend sticking to three or four that you really like.
